Vasco da Gama City, Goa
Vasco da Gama is a port city in Goa. Vasco is the Goa’s most populous and known for its adjoining Mormugao port which is busy, dusty and mainly commercial. Mormugao Port was constructed in 1888, and is today one of the major ports of India.
Note: Vasco is mainly a business town, there does not offer much for tourists.

By plane: Goa’s only international airport, at Dabolim, is on the outskirts of the expanding city of Vasco da Gama just 4 Kms from the main city.
By train: Vasco da Gama Railway station (IR station code : VSG) is connected by direct trains to Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Chennai. There are several more connections to Mumbai and other places available from Madgaon Junction, 24 km away. Check more details on Trains to Goa.
By Bus: There are frequent bus services to towns in neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra. Also, all major services like KTC and other services that connect Panaji to other cities usually have connections from Vasco.
